CONGRATULATIONS JOHN!!! :applause: :applause: :applause:

I guess with your new found windfall that you are treating tomorrow night.... ;)

Today was my first match for the season. In additional to the usual Garands on the firing line, there were several M1903A3s and even a .30-40 Krag. While I am now about one percentage point behind last year's average, I did start with a higher score than last year's opening match. I finished the day with a 86-1X for slow fire prone, 81-0X for rapid fire prone and 81-1X for the slowfire standing totaling a 248-2X out of a possible 300-30X.

Today's match not any help to my average. I turned in a 89-1X for slow fire prone, 85-0X for rapid fire prone and a dismal 71-0X for the slowfire standing totaling a 245-1X out of a possible 300-30X. So my average is dragged down a bit. But I may have done well enough in the slowfire prone to win a few bucks for the stage. Oh well, practice continues.

Today's match was a mixed bag. In slow fire prone, I brought home a 90-0X! The 74-0X in the slowfire standing was not great but I can live with it as it is my handicap. The rapid-fire prone; however, really hurt with a crappy 75-0X. It should have been in the 85/90 range. My total for the day was a 243-0X out of a possible 300-30X. Again my average has suffered. But the 90-0X in the slow-fire prone may have been enough to win something for the stage. Two more matches remain for the season.

In slow fire prone, I scored an 88-1X. The rapid-fire prone was OK with an 85-0X. But the slow-fire standing was a horrible 60-0X. It was completely my fault. I could not keep from jerking the trigger. I finished a full 20 points off of where I should be.

The last match of the season for me with a very slight improvement over last month's result. I dropped one point each in the slow fire and rapid fire prone stages. I did however improve in the slowfire offhand stage by four points. An overall score of 235-0X. Still behind last year's high average. Practice will continue through the winter!

I just got an e-mail that my CMP Special M1 Garand is being shipped! I sent in the order twenty days ago. The paperwork stated that received orders normally ship in 30 to 60 days!
