Have fun, and make sure to stay safe.

Wear long sleeves, welding gloves, safety glasses, face shield, and a cotton hat such as a welding beanie or baseball cap.

Also make sure you have plenty of ventilation. If you are doing any significant amount of casting then a respirator with P100 filters would be a wise choice even if working outside.

And make damn sure your mold are dry! You really don't want to see molten lead explode!

i know what thats like.. I was outside last weekend melting down some wheel weights into ingots and towards the bottom of my wheel weight bucket were a few damp ones. (didnt realize) good thing i was wearing my protective gear. scared the crap out of me.
