looking for a open carry friendly jacket

Hey everyone, I'm looking for a cool weather jacket that is open carry compatible. I used the search feature on here but couldn't find anything. Hopefully someone can help point me in the right direction or give some recommendations. Something that isn't super bulky, and has the openings (zippers) on the sides to accommodate a owb holster (blackhawk serpa) thanks in advance!

I don't know of any non-LE jacket that would have a side zipper for a holster.

Most jackets only go down as far as the waist and would be fine for OC. Some 'jackets' extend down a little farther to the hips and would not be appropriate for OC without some kind of slit or zipper at the side. So, just look for a waist length jacket and you sould be GTG.

HELIKON JACKAL SOFT SHELL JACKET

Here is a search I have been watching on eBay since someone mentioned this European jacket last year. The price has not gotten to a point where I can pull the trigger though.

NCC - I saw that posting aswell, really like that jacket.
I found one made by 5.11 tactical that looks like it'll work for what I want. Haven't popped on it yet though. For now I do have a nice jacket made by the north face that is somewhat short and works decently. I just like the option to have the side zippers to ensure my jacket doesn't accidentally slip over top my sidearm and doesnt bunch up around the holster either.

It would be easy enough to take your favorite light jacket to any dry cleaners that does alterations and have a zipper installed in the side. Probably cost you $20 for the work and the zipper I would guess.

Normally I just make sure my coat is tucked behind my holster. I have a mid rise paddle holster and my P226 is big enough that I've never had and issue.

But now that you say that, my wife can make clothes. I may just ask her to do some alterations! Thanks!

Oh, that's a nice jacket. Work gave me a 5.11 fleece though, so I'll keep rocking that for now.

Getting zippers put on sounds like a pretty good idea, I might explore that a bit more. In the meantime I ended up ordering a 5.11 fleece jacket for a really great price. I looked into the jackal jacket but wasn't very impressed with the month+ wait for it to arrive. Thanks for the recommendations though.
