I have been away from the forum for a couple of years and just recently came back slowly replying to an an occasional thread here and there and even attended a couple of downstate dinners. Then I remembered that just before I stepped away I started this.

Here is my latest encounter. I was in the Redner's in Milford last Thursday and I was dressed nicely in slacks, long sleeve shirt and a tie (not my normal day to day attire) and I was wearing what has become my favored EDC, a Ruger SR40c in a Fobus paddle holster. I prefer the Safariland ALS holster but they do not make one for the Ruger SR series. An older gentleman approached me and asked if I was the manager, I told him "no." He took a good look at my Ruger and asked if I was security. I again replied "no." He looked frustrated and asked "Well then, who are you?" I replied "I'm just me." He gave me a confused look and quickly walked away finding an actual employee to take his issue to. I found this short interaction very amusing and it took all I had not to let it show.

Has your last encounter in Milford deterred you at all from OC, hope not. I will be taking my condo back from rental in December and will be moving down permanently there, hoping to have the guts to OC myself prior to getting CCW.

I have been open carrying for about 7 years and have yet to have a negative encounter. Yesterday I had an uneventful trip to Wal-Mart and Dover Pools. Never a problem at either one. It does not take anything special, just strap on your firearm and head out. If it would make it easier for you I am willing to tag along for your first time. Sometimes it is easier that way.

Not so much lately, but I do tend to get mistaken for being a store employee fairly often. Especially in the winter, when I'm the only non-employee not wearing a coat. It could also be the "I don't care about your problem" look on my face, which is very similar to that of most store employees!
