You may start a topic here for an Open Carry Log -- a place to relay places and any events which may occur.

I read the open carry logs with interest as we cannot open carry in Florida... yet. Though I have open carried in GA. It took a few times getting used to and then felt very normal. Unfortunately, then I had to return back home to a concealed carry state.

We have been pushing for open carry for a few years. My question is... For those of you who have a CCDW, do you always open carry or do you conceal carry as well? Do you feel that one is better than the other?

I carry both ways depending on my preference that day. During colder weather and going to very crowded places I am more inclined to CC. During warmer weather I tend to OC more.

I don't view one way as always better than the other since each have certain strengths and weaknesses. I enjoy the freedom to choose.

I have said exactly this when debating the need for OC - I would prefer the freedom to choose. There are times that I think I would prefer CC, but I also believe that OC'ing in Atlanta created a deterrent on at least 1 occasion.

Also, as a female, CC is not always convenient especially with our clothing styles. In the summer, it can be difficult to CC my M&P 9c wearing shorts.

There are some here who say even if open carry is passed that they would continue to CC. Their reason that open carrying increases the chances of your firearm being taken from you. I don't necessarily agree with this, but this type of thinking is prevalent.

Do they even know what a Level 2 or level 3 retention holster is?
