When did that change?

No change.

It's always been that way. Only those without a DE CCDW needed to ask for an official letter of clarification of their right to OC in Dover.

A Dover statute was poorly worded and they aren't going to change a word of the statute and lose their exemption. Therefore, a letter from the Dover Chief of Police clarifies that OC is indeed legal in Dover. Instead of making a blanket statement, they choose to clarify this on an individual basis.

Take your DE CCDW and DL. You can fill out the app on-site.
Do I need copies of fingerprints or do they print me there?

No need for prints. Just you, your current DE CCW and $20. The have the applications there.

Print out the online application and fill out at home. Saves time at the Sheriff's office. My total time there was 12 minutes!
