I trained in H2H when I was younger. One test from a black belt by the age of 14. (Couldnt afford it).

I always loved close combat defense, but I haven't trained in years. I was thinking about getting one of these as an EDC for defense and general use. I really like the DART, but I didnt know if these were legal..

Both come with a trainer kit also if purchased.

Anyone have either of these? The art of the Karambit has always amazed me, and to see the design with a straight blade makes it more EDC friendly. Id love to learn to train with one of these. Its amazing how my previous training has kicked in for certain situations and I dont even realize it until after. I would like to be proficient in something along the lines of a Karambit, but I have a feeling they are illegal.

Blade length is less than 3" so it should be legal without a needing a permit. Switch blades/knives with a button used to deploy the blade are not legal. Assisted opening knives like a kershaw speedsafe are legal. However, make sure you read up on the laws yourself.

Could be haha, But its to assist opening. You can catch it on anything to open the blade. My old knife didnt have such a hook, but I was good at opening it off things if needed.

I know a guy who did knife/MMA training and he caries a practice knife that is curved like the Karambit. It is not sharp at all but he said it works just fine for self defense.
