 Jager Matthias's Legal Fund

Jager Matthias Legal Fund

On Wednesday, May 18th, 2011, Jager Matthias was openly carrying his firearm on a Wilmington city street when he was detained, disarmed, arrested and, utimately, had his property confiscated by the Wilmington City police department.

View his open carry log of the event here.

At this time, the Wilmington Police Department are refusing to release his firearm until he is able to provide proof of ownership. Delaware Open Carry, being an organization who supports both the rights of concealed and open carriers, believes this is a blatant violation of Jager's Fourth Amendment/Delaware Section 6 rights to be free from warrantless search and siezure; his Delaware Section 20 right to keep and bear arms for the defense of self; and that the actions of the police were beyond the bounds of constitutionality.

Because of this, we're asking for donations to support Jager in his legal battle to reclaim his property and seek redress for this violation of his civil rights.

How Do I Donate?

If you're interested in donating, firstly, thank you so very much. Your support helps the law abiding community continue to exercise the right to keep and bear arms. You have two methods to donate:

1) By mail: Please Email Rob for a mailing address for donations -- checks, cashier's checks and money orders are acceptable.

2) Through PayPal via the link below -- please include if you'd like to have your name included in the list of donators. (PayPal eats a small portion (~3.2%) of your donation, so the net amount will be given to Jager).

We've reached our goal -- thank you!
